Easy Meals are a Non-Negotiable

Some trends have staying power. For the third year in a row, “Easy Meals” tops the list of food curiosities. Three quarters of consumers are actively searching for easy meal inspiration.

While busy schedules are a driver of the need for quick and easy meals, there are other reasons people might want simpler suppers (and other meals). People also might want to save money, simplify prep, meet specific dietary needs, accommodate family tastes or make cleanup a breeze.

Inflation Impacts Shopping Behaviors

Food inflation isn’t just an economic headline. Nine in ten people say inflation has changed their grocery buying habits, and it’s redefining where and how they shop.

This may lead to consumers seeking budget-friendly swaps, stretching meals further and thinking twice about splurges. They may also be open to trade-downs and ingredient or meal alternatives, or more receptive to brands that deliver value.

AI in the Kitchen

According to the most recent Consumer Curiosity Report findings, artificial intelligence officially made its way into the kitchen in 2025. More than half of early food adopters are already using AI in some way for food decision-making purposes, whether it’s finding recipes, planning meals or making shopping lists.

AI can offer simplified cooking skills and personalized recommendations, giving brands a chance to meet consumers where they’re using this technology.

Learning New Skills & Seeking Inspiration

Consumers are looking to expand their kitchen confidence. For food businesses and marketers, sharing cooking skills and tips unlocks new opportunities to connect with consumers by providing them with the knowledge and inspiration that makes cooking feel achievable and desirable.
